Vehicle Pursuit and Recovery of Stolen Vehicle

From the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Vehicle Pursuit and Recovery of Stolen Vehicle On March 10, 2025, at approximately 6:11 pm, deputies with the Rowan County Sheriff’s office located a stolen vehicle in the area of Hwy 601 and East Ridge Road. The deputy observed the vehicle pulling into the Village Grocery on US Hwy 601. When the occupants of the vehicle saw the deputies patrol vehicle, they fled the area at a high rate of speed.The deputy attempted a vehicle stop on East Ridge Road, but the vehicle did not stop and fled down East Ridge Road at speeds over 100 mph. The vehicle was also reported to be a suspect vehicle in a robbery out of Salisbury. The pursuit continued to a dead end on East Ridge Road, where the suspect drove through a front yard and back onto the roadway.The pursuit then continued into Spencer and onto Hollywood Drive where Officers from Spencer Police Department attempted to deploy stop sticks. The driver of the stolen vehicle began passing vehicles in a curve and this is when the deputy had to use caution and back off for the safety of other motorists, and lost sight of the suspect vehicle.A short time later, the vehicle was located abandoned beside of a church just outside the town limits of Spencer. A K-9 officer responded and deployed a K-9 into a wooded area to search for the suspects. The NC Highway Patrol helicopter also responded, but the suspects were not located, and there are no suspect descriptions at this time. It was reported that there appeared to be 3 to 4 suspects in the vehicle when the pursuit began. There was also some indication, that the suspects may have been picked up in the Seventh Street area by a black mini van that was seen in the area.Officers from the Salisbury Police Department responded and processed the stolen vehicle for its possible involvement in the robbery. Warrant Service Leads to Multiple Drug Arrests

From Rowan County Sheriff's Office Warrant Service Leads to Multiple Drug ArrestsSALISBURY, N.C. (Tuesday, March 4, 2024)- On Friday, February 28, 2025, at approximately 0930 hrs. Deputies with the Civil Division of Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrived at 550 St. Matthews Church Rd Salisbury to serve an outstanding order for arrest on Joshua Jones. Deputies encountered, a gray Ford Explorer turning into the driveway. Two Deputies pulled in behind the vehicle and saw what appeared to be a drug transaction. The deputies noticed that the male standing outside the vehicle was the wanted subject, Joshua Jones.Deputies detained Jones and encountered Jacob Pilkington as the driver of the vehicle. Deputies noticed drug paraphernalia in open view and detained Pilkington also. While deputies were out with these individuals, three deputies on the other side of the house observed Anthony Sadler run from the residence and hide behind an outbuilding. As the deputies approached, they saw Sadler come out from behind the building and throw something into the bushes.Sadler was detained while deputies searched the area and were able to locate and take possession of a container with methamphetamine. Sadler, taken into custody.Jacob Pilkington was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Deputies applied for a search warrant of the property which contained a house, detached garage, camper, and several outbuildings. Deputies were awarded a search warrant.During the search deputies located.- 156 grams of methamphetamine- Psilocybin mushrooms- Wax marijuana- Drug paraphernaliaDeputies also located an operational moonshine still. ALE was called in to process the moonshine still.Individuals charged during the incident.- Jacob Pilkington, possess methamphetamine, driving while license revoked, possess drug paraphernalia, simple possess sch III controlled substance- Bond $1,500 secured- John Corl, maintain dwelling for control substance- Bond $3,000.00 secured- Heather Miller, trafficking in methamphetamine, felony possession of sch I controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia- No Bond Pre Trial Integrity- Joshua Jones, failure to appear- Bond $1,000.00 secured- Anthony Sadler, possession of methamphetamine- Bond $5,000.00 securedSheriff Travis Allen commented - “These arrests are yet another example of the dedicated service that each Division of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office provides each day. Man Plea's Guilty to Second Degree Murder of Child

In Salisbury, 30-year-old David Alan Brady pleaded guilty on August 23 to second-degree murder and felony child abuse related to the death of his girlfriend's son, Waylon Blake Thompson, and the severe injuries of his own son, Matthew. Brady's legal troubles began in 2020 when Waylon, then a child, died from blunt force trauma, with Brady living at the same residence. Initially charged with felony child abuse, he was granted a $500,000 bond.

Suspect Arrested after Shooting at First Responders

Joint Release Rowan County Sheriff's Office and Rowan County Emergency ServicesSuspect Arrested after Shooting at First RespondersThe Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting where a suspect fired shots at Fire and EMS personnel after they arrived on scene of an unconscious person in a vehicle.This afternoon, at approximately 11:46 am, Rowan County emergency services, in coordination with Atwell Fire Department, responded to a call at the intersection of Shinn Farm Road and Highway 152 regarding an unresponsive driver, Miguel Angel Ramirez. Upon arrival, paramedics determined that Ramirez was likely impaired rather than suffering from a medical condition.While awaiting the NC Highway Patrol, Ramirez brandished a handgun and fired a shot. In the ensuing chaos, one Rowan County paramedic sustained an arm injury from a fall while seeking cover. Ramirez then stole a fire department pickup truck, which he drove erratically. After colliding with another vehicle at the intersection of Hwy 152 and Unity Church Road, Ramirez drove off-road across a soybean field and into a nearby yard, where he was ultimately apprehended by deputies.The stolen gun was recovered by a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office K9 in the soybean field. Ramirez sustained minor injuries from the crash, and the driver of the other vehicle was unharmed. The injured paramedic was treated and released from the hospital.We are relieved to report that, despite the challenging circumstances, all personnel will return to their families without life-threatening injuries. This incident highlights the dedication and solidarity between all Rowan County emergency service personnel in ensuring each other's safety and effectively resolving the situation.

Man Arrested for Killing His Brother.

A 29-year-old Concord man, Mario Sanchez-Mata, has been arrested on second-degree murder charges after confessing to killing his brother, Jose Sanchez-Mata, 33. On August 3 at 12:38 p.m., officers responded to a well-being check at 2754 Plantation Road NW, Concord, following Mario's confession to Rowan County Sheriff's Office deputies. Minutes later, a woman at the residence called police to report her boyfriend was dead. Officers found Jose had been shot. Mario was arrested by Rowan County deputies and charged with second-degree murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied property. He is held in Cabarrus County jail on a $1 million bond. The incident is believed to be a domestic dispute.

Kannapolis Man Arrested for Trafficking Crystal Meth

In June 2024, Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Detectives launched an investigation into Marion Dajuan Feaster of Kannapolis, NC. Over the course of a month, Feaster was found to be selling trafficking quantities of Crystal Methamphetamine in Rowan and Cabarrus Counties. On July 22, 2024, Feaster was arrested while attempting to deliver approximately 256 grams of methamphetamine in the Dollar General Store parking lot.

Man Charged after Luring Kannapolis Teen to Chicago

Andrew Szech has been arrested for allegedly convincing a 15-year-old girl to travel from Kannapolis, North Carolina, to Chicago, where he sexually abused her. The U.S. Marshals Service located the missing girl at a residence in Green Oaks, Illinois, prompting detectives to obtain a search warrant on July 24.

Salisbury Robbery Leads to Arrests, One Suspect Still at Large

SALISBURY — A man has been arrested and warrants issued for two others following a robbery that left a man hospitalized. Deputies responded to a call at Powles-Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, where they found a man with head injuries. The victim reported he was attacked by three men at a party on Puckett Drive while searching for a dropped credit card. The attackers stole his backpack, including his medication.

China Grove Man Arrested for Alleged Child Pornography Possession

SALISBURY — John Michael Dayvault, a 39-year-old from China Grove, was arrested on Tuesday following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The Rowan County Sheriff's Office, alerted by the NCMEC through the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, initiated an investigation after Microsoft Bing reported potential child pornography in Dayvault’s possession, according to Captain Mark McDaniel.

Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Kannapolis

Kannapolis police are investigating a homicide following reports of shots fired late Tuesday night. Officers responded to the 600 block of Caribbean Court at 11:45 p.m., where they discovered 18-year-old Damien Carter Senesaynho deceased from a gunshot wound. Another individual was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Man Charged After Disturbance at Love’s Travel Stop

A man was charged after entering a store on a bicycle, assaulting the manager, attempting theft, and exposing himself to deputies. Deputies responded to a disturbance at Love’s Travel Stop on Peeler Road around 7 a.m. Arvin Junior Stevenson, 46, resisted arrest, shouted profanities, and exposed himself until detained. Stevenson rode his bicycle into the store, threatened employees, and attempted theft. He made crude remarks and exposed himself to the manager, then assaulted her before being detained. Stevenson faces multiple charges including assault, indecent exposure, and theft. He was given a $15,000 bond and is in custody at Rowan County Detention Center.

Kernersville: Daughter Accused of Mothers Murder

In Kernersville, North Carolina, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Buckview Court shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. They discovered Linda Turner Terrell, 74, inside the home with head trauma and pronounced her dead at the scene. Her daughter, Michelle Denise DeGuzman, 51, was arrested for her mother's murder and is currently held without bond at the Forsyth County Detention Center. Authorities assure the public that this incident is isolated and poses no further threat.

Motorcyclist Arrested After High-Speed Chase in Rowan County

A 23-year-old man was arrested on Saturday morning after fleeing from a traffic stop on a motorcycle in Rowan County, North Carolina. According to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office, the incident began around 1 a.m. when a deputy noticed a motorcycle with neon wheels driving over 100 mph on Interstate 85. The driver, identified as Chandler Austin King, sped up to 130 mph and weaved in and out of traffic before exiting the highway and experiencing engine troubles on Julian Road. King was forced to stop at an intersection and was arrested without incident. He was charged with felony flee to elude, misdemeanor aggressive driving, and speeding. He was given a $20,000 bond and is being held at the Rowan County Detention Center.

Kannapolis Woman Shot and Killed- One person Charged

Kannapolis: An 18-year-old is in custody following a tragic shooting incident in Kannapolis on June 10. The Kannapolis Police Department responded to a disturbance at a residence on 1903 Lane St. around 8:45 p.m., where they found Ebony Gill, 43, deceased from a gunshot wound. Jawaren Smith, 18, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the incident. Smith was apprehended with the help of local residents who witnessed him fleeing the scene. Davie County Couple Missing Found Deceased

On Thursday authorities reported they were searching for a couple out of Davie County that had been missing. According to the Davie County Sheriff's Department, Cynthia Roberson Gobble and Gregory Wayne Gobble have been found deceased on the Iredell/Davie County line. Authorities say they do not believe anyone else is involved and are currently investigating the incident.

Shootout with Rowan County Deputy’s

Rowan County Sheriff’s Department involved in shootout today on Old Concord Rd. The suspect, Kenneth Vickers, was pronounced dead on the scene. Vickers shot at deputies as they tried to apprehend him after he failed to return to court after a short break. Vickers was out on bond for charges in Cabarrus County.
