Suspicious Person Arrested for Breaking and Entering in Landis

Statement from the Landis Police department

"On 07/22/2024 around 5:00AM, Landis Police Department Officers responded to a suspicious person 911 call on S Zion Street in reference to an unknown person looking into vehicles.

Upon arrival, Officers located the suspect (later identified as Eric Lisk) nearby, in front of a residence on S Highland Avenue. When Officers approached Mr. Lisk, they observed he was wearing a headlamp and was carrying a large wooden stick with a large knife tied on the end of it. Mr. Lisk told Officers he had entered a truck parked at the residence they were standing in front of because he was running from a dog that was chasing him.

Officers continued their investigation and confirmed from surveillance footage that Mr. Lisk was not being chased by a dog and had entered a truck that did not belong to him. Officers arrested Mr. Lisk for Felony B&E Motor Vehicle and transported him to the Rowan County Detention Facility where he received a $5,000.00 secured bond.

The Landis Police Department would like to thank the China Grove Police Department and local community members for their assistance in this investigation."
