Deputies Investigate Multiple Larcenies and Recover Stolen Property

SALISBURY, N.C. (Tuesday, April 1, 2025) – The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several larcenies that occurred over the weekend.

On March 30, 2025, deputies responded to Karriker Farm Road in reference to a stolen forklift. Deputies later located the stolen forklift on Cooper Road, being operated by Richard Casey Webb, who was accompanied by a female, Christy Lane Tipton.

Witnesses observed Webb drive a Ford Ranger Pickup to the location on Karriker Farm Road and then later observed him driving away in the forklift. Webb used the stolen forklift to pick up the Ford Ranger, which also turned out to be stolen, and remove it from the area. The Ford Ranger was later located in a wooded area off Deal Road. At the time the truck was located, there were several items in the bed of the truck that were confirmed stolen from other locations.

There were several reports of stolen items over the weekend that Webb and Tipton are believed to be involved in. Investigators are looking into their involvement in those incidents. There are likely to be more charges pending.

Webb and Tipton were both charged with possession of the stolen forklift. Webb was also charged with damage to real property when he damaged the field that he drove across to leave the Ford Ranger in the woods. They were both placed in the Rowan County Detention Center, with Tipton receiving a $1,000.00 secured bond, and Webb receiving no bond due to the pretrial integrity act.
