Andrew Szech has been arrested for allegedly convincing a 15-year-old girl to travel from Kannapolis, North Carolina, to Chicago, where he sexually abused her. The U.S. Marshals Service located the missing girl at a residence in Green Oaks, Illinois, prompting detectives to obtain a search warrant on July 24.
Szech was apprehended while leaving the home with the victim. The search revealed over 2,700 grams of cannabis, psilocybin-laced candy, psilocybin mushrooms, cannabis plants, a firearm, and Adderall pills.
Szech allegedly contacted the girl online in June and persuaded her to travel to Chicago in early July. He is facing multiple charges, including:
- Three counts of criminal sexual abuse
- Unlawful possession of psilocybin mushrooms and cannabis with intent to deliver
- Unlawful possession of cannabis and Adderall
- Aggravated battery and reckless conduct
The investigation is ongoing.
