A Rowan County man was arrested after a verbal argument turned physical, with the victim calling for help during the assault. Deputies responded to the scene on Barger Road after a third party reported the ongoing altercation. The victim, locked in her car, recounted how the argument escalated when she tried to leave. George Edgar Michael Forren, 30, allegedly restrained her, struck her, and choked her. Deputies found physical evidence supporting her account and arrested Forren on the scene, charging him with felony assault by strangulation. He's now held without bond at the Rowan County Detention Center.
