Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrests in Landis

Statement from the Landis Police Department


"On 07/12/2024 around 09:15 PM, Landis Police Department Patrol Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on S Main Street.

After speaking with the driver (Sarah Estes) and the passenger (William Barringer), a China Grove Police Department K9 positively alerted on the vehicle for the odor of narcotics. Ms. Estes then informed the Officers that she had methamphetamine (1.5 grams) inside of her purse in the car.

Officers searched the vehicle and located a pipe in the center console and a second glass pipe was later located in Barringer’s pocket. Both were arrested and transported to the Rowan County Detention Center.
