Salisbury, NC: A 55-year-old woman, Nicole Cathcart Land, is facing charges of simple assault and battery after a crash in Salisbury. According to police, officers were called to the 600 block of Lafayette Circle around 2 a.m. after reports of a vehicle crashing into a building. When they arrived, they found a Honda Odyssey with significant damage to a wooden fence.
During their investigation, officers discovered that Land allegedly assaulted a passenger in the vehicle before the crash. The passenger reported that Land threatened to kill both herself and the passenger before the incident. Land was charged with simple assault-simple assault and battery or affray.
