Pedestrian Hit and Killed in Concord - Suspect Charged

Concord, N.C. — A man faces charges after a fatal pedestrian collision in Concord on Friday afternoon.

The Concord Police Department reported that around 1:30 p.m., 41-year-old David Royce Brown, driving a Nissan Titan, struck and killed 35-year-old John Lee Stevenson Jr. on Davidson Highway near Winecoff School Road.

Brown was arrested, with police citing impairment as a key factor. He is charged with second-degree murder and habitual impaired driving and is being held without bond at the Cabarrus County jail.
